Chipping Sodbury, High St, Early 1980's

Chipping Sodbury Taxis have been serving the local community over the last 30 years, established in the early 1980's by Robert Lonsdale. We are a family run business with Ben Lonsdale becoming a partner within the business in 1999.

Now operating from Bristol Parkway Station, serving to all the local business parks including Aztec West, Woodlands and Bristol Business park. Providing specialized business travel with facilities such as Credit card payment and In-Car Wi-Fi.

Over the years Chipping Sodbury Taxis have operated many types of vehicle including one of which was a London Taxi, which at the time was one of the first to be operated within South Gloucestershire. One of the main attractions to this vehicle we discovered was the use for weddings it became very popular, as the vehicle was unique for the area, it even got a mention in the local 'Evening Post'.

We still aim to be innovative with the service that we are providing which is why we have taken steps forward with our credit card payment and now the bold step to offer Internet access whilst on the move through our on-board wireless router/modem, and offering laptop-charging facilities for those longer journeys.

We have also developed a Taxi Fare calculator, which is able to estimate the cost of your journey based upon the distance of the journey. It calculates the fare based upon the guidance’s set out by our local council, South Gloucestershire Council. Chipping Sodbury Taxis operates daily offering our services from 8am to 11pm, however we are flexible to advanced booking.
